We
moved southward from the Cameron Highlands (back into
the heat) via KL to a town called Malacca (Melaka).

On
first glance Malacca seemed pretty interesting. It was a port
on the South West of Perninsula Malaysia with its own
china town and old village square with many relics
left from the British ownership (pre war).

There is a replica of an old spanish ship which is part of the navel museum
and had lots of old war relics.

The rest of
the town was pretty similar to Avonmouth! (including
the waterfront). Not the sort of place you would want to
spend time sunbathing and swiming! Although there were
lots of small mudskippers in the estuary and on the mud flats.

The weather was hot, but extremely
hazy (we found out later it was due to the forest
fires in Sumatra).
