The
following day we walked across the border into
Singapore, which was an acheivement with 25kg
backpacks on our backs in 35 degree sunny weather!!

Singapore is a magnificent city (and country), it is
so clean and organised with a superb public transport
system. It is ideal for shopping and is a lot more
expensive than Thailand and Malaysia.

We met up with
Pauls girlfriend (Livia) who is travelling with us for
a month. We also met up with Clement, a local guy (we
met him previously in the Perhentian Islands) who took
us to some fantastic local food stalls and drove us on
a night tour of the city. It was a fantistic way to
see Singapore.

We also visited Sentosa Island on the
south of Singapore which had some great attractions
including the best musical water fountain show in the
world (with lasers and projected video onto the wall
of water).

The best view of the island was from the top of the Merlion (a mythical beast
that is half lion and half fish which watchs ove the people of Singapore).

There was also a man made beach complex with a view out to see
of hundreds of ships, which did look quite
bizarre especially as Singapore boasts having the busiest
port in the world.

We also visited another butterfly and insect farm on the island,
and I fould a friend in the shape of a rather colourful butterfly
which decided to land on my hand and stayed with us throughout the
tour.

We also met one of the keepers who was handling a deadly scorpion,
he proceded to annoy the scorpion so it would get into attack mode
and then milked the venom from it and placed the venom on his tongue.
He then turned to me and said "now I am more poisonous than scorpion", I realised
he was completely mad and decided to leave!
